My name is Vicente, but you can call me Vincho. I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was born in September 2023. My parents found out I had CLOVES when my mom was about 35 weeks pregnant but the diagnosis was confirmed later on by a genetic test when I was born. I have overgrowth in both legs among other symptoms. One of them has a big stain in it, we call it the Malbec leg because Malbec is so good in Argentina.
Despite having CLOVES I’ve managed to crawl and walk and climb everywhere. Not to brag but I’m a super funny and active boy, or so my mum says. I have to see a lot of doctors which can be tiring and boring sometimes. My legs don’t hurt, al least not yet but sometimes I get tired of running. I’ve been treated with Sirolimus since I was born and it has helped. We have a special team of doctors that mean the world to us. They specialize in PROS syndrome which is great. I’ve met Dr. Denise Adams and Dr. Canaud. Both agree with my mom that I’m the cutest little thing in the world. What hurts me the most is having trouble to find shoes and people being mean. But I remind myself that there are more good than bad people out there. I’ve met lots of other families living with CLOVES through the community and me and my folks are super grateful for that!
